The Equality Project will take over these projects
from our UCW on January 1st!
As previously announced last month, two long-time UCW outreach projects will terminate as UCW projects as of December 31, 2017 due to the group disbanding. Thus, as of the end of 2017, Zion United Church will no longer collect Campbell’s product labels or used postage stamps. If you are savings any of these items for the church, please ensure that they are received by the church before the end of this year:
However, we have received the good news that a local charitable group, the Equality Project based in Cache Creek, is willing to take on these projects starting January 1st, 2018. Labels and stamps can be delivered to the Equality Project clubhouse at 1260 Stage Road in Cache Creek any Monday or Tuesday between the hours of 9:00 am and 2:00 pm (the only days and times this facility is open). There will be two containers on the registration table inside the front door where the labels and stamps can be deposited.
Labels from the wide variety of Campbell’s products are accepted. Check this website link Campbell’s for details.
All used postage stamps are eligible as long as they are fully intact (no corners missing or other damage to them).
It is really positive news that these worthy projects started over 30 years ago by our UCW will continue!
Nice update about Joyce Freeman via Reta Robertson. Joyce has now completed her time in Royal Inland Hospital and Ponderosa and has moved into the Ridgepointe Retirement facility in Kamloops.
Joyce is shown wearing the prayer shawl knit for her by a lady at Kamloops United Church (KUC) especially for her, and she is with Arlene Simmonds, a member of KUC who has been especially helpful in visiting with Joyce and keeping in touch letting us know how Joyce has been doing.
Thanks from the congregation to Arlene for providing us with current information about Joyce!
